These are just some useful quick tips on the SAP Warehouse Management:
The Warehouse only relates to a physical entity when it is assigned to a Storage location.
The Data Governance Group (DG) often includes a governing body or council, an agreed upon set of procedures, and a plan to execute those procedures.
Create Warehouse-3 Characters
Assign Warehouse number to Plant and Storage location.
Warehouse Bin Stock blocking logic:
It determines the level of simultaneous access to the materials in the warehouse for users.
Parameter A: Allows the users to access the same material, but not the same bin.
Parameter B: More than one user can access the same bin.

Partial Picking:
In multiple processing a number of Transfer of requirements are grouped together. However if there is a shortage of material, this parameter defines how the system deals with the shortage. The parameter selection has 4 options:

1 – Partial picking for multiple processing for delivery is allowed
2 – Partial picking for multiple processing for TR is allowed.
3 – Partial picking for multiple TR’s and delivery is allowed.
Blank – Partial picking for multiple TR’s and delivery is not allowed.
The material entered in the Transfer requirement is a batch managed material, the user creating the TR should enter a Batch number.

Notification and Messages - Activity data: The activity data describes the planned times for the activities on the Transfer order.

Storage Type:

The defined areas of storage in SAP are called Storage types.

The layout of the Warehouse is divided into Storage Types, and these defined areas directly relate to the requirements of materials to be stored in the warehouse.

Storage Types:

Rack Storage
Bulk Pallet Storage
Slow moving materials
Special Storage
Storage Type - Data Entry:
1. Storage unit management active:

A storage unit is a group of one or more amount of materials that can be managed in the warehouse as a distinct unit.

2. Storage Type is an ID point:

An identification point is an location in an automated warehouse where the incoming goods are identified.

3. Storage type is a picking point:

If the indicator for Storage type is a picking point is set,the storage type is a picking point for another storage type.

4. Put away Strategy:

5. Stock placement requires confirmation:

Before any material is available ,all the relevant transfer orders must be confirmed.

6. Destination storage bin change during confirmation:

It allows the destination storage bin to be changed on a Transfer Order, when the transfer order is being confirmed for this storage type.

7. Mixed Storage:

Mixed storage refers to the different materials or batches of material being located in the same bin.

8. Addition to Stock:

This field can be configured to allow a quant of a material with a certain batch number to be added to a storage bin with the same material and the same batch that exists in the bin.
Note: ”Quant” is the quantity of the same material with the same material number and the same batch number.

9. Active Capacity check:

The check will ensure that a capacity check is made when the material is moved into a storage bin. If the capacity of the bin to be exceeded the material could not be moved into the storage bin.

10. Storage unit management check active:

If this indicator is set the storage unit type need to be specified during stock placements.

11. Storage section check active:

When this indicator is set, SAP will search for storage bins in storage areas defined in the storage area check table.

12. Block upon Stock placement:

With this indicator set ,the quant and the storage bin can be blocked during stock placement. The following two options are available in configuration.

a. Block the storage bin during stock placement.
b. Block the quant during stock placement.
